COVID-19 Policy Release Agreement

This policy covers COVID-19 health and safety protocols for Chen 48 Form and Cannon Fist Camps 2025.

As of January 2025, COVID-19 is still prevalent. The health and well-being of everyone is our highest priority. 

***Because COVID-19 is an evolving situation, please check back for further updates to this policy.**


All attendees and event staff must follow these COVID-19 health and safety measures for the 2025 event:

  • Masks are optional but highly recommended.

  • All participants must test negative for Covid within 24 hours prior to arrival at camp.

  • Additionally, all participants must test negative for Covid within 24 hours upon arrival at camp. You must supply your own test kit.

  • Vaccinations are not required, but highly recommended as per the CDC.

  • You are encouraged to take any additional precautions you deem necessary to keep yourself and other camp attendees safe.

  • If at any time during camp you exhibit any of the symptoms listed below, please test immediately.  If you—or someone you have been in close contact with—experiences any of the following while at camp, please isolate yourself in your accommodations, and notify camp staff.

Symptoms include:

  • Sore throat

  • Congestion or runny nose

  • Muscle or body aches

  • Headache

  • Fatigue

  • Nausea or vomiting

  • Diarrhea

  • Fever or chills

  • Cough

  • Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing

  • New loss of taste or smell

Assumption of Risk Agreement

By registering for and attending the event, you voluntarily agree to the following:

  • To assume all risks related to exposure to COVID-19.

  • To accept primary responsibility for taking steps to protect yourself from contracting COVID-19.

  • To follow all federal/state/local public health laws, regulations and guidelines for COVID-19 health and safety in effect at the time of the event. If such laws or guidelines are more stringent than these Terms & Conditions, they will take precedence over camp guidelines.  For example, if wearing of masks becomes mandatory as the result of North Carolina health policies, you will wear a mask.

  • To fully comply with any health, safety, and other policies instituted by Center for Taiji Qigong Studies / WaQi and the venue while attending the event, including any modifications and/or enhancements of health and safety policies.

  • If you contract COVID-19 or test positive for COVID-19 while at the event, it is your responsibility to pay for all expenses including but not limited to costs related to quarantine (hotel, meals), medical care, transportation to and from a medical facility, and changes in travel.

  • Under no circumstances shall the Center for Taiji Qigong Studies / WaQi be liable to you for any injury, expenses, or other loss of any kind arising in any manner from COVID-19 or otherwise arising from your travel to/from, attendance at, or participation in the camps.

  • Hotel and event services may be modified or curtailed at any time if necessary or appropriate to meet COVID-19 health and safety practices.  You agree to adapt to the new services.   For example, if the camp administration limits dining room seating to 4 people/table, you agree to abide by the new restriction.   

  • You agree that this Liability Waiver & Release of Claims is in addition to, and does not supersede or limit any applicable law limiting or barring the liability of Center for Taiji Qigong Studies / WaQi from any claims related to COVID-19.
